Task has its main administrative and data management facility at Karl Bremer Hospital, Bellville. Peripheral study sites are located in Delft, Mfuleni and Scottsdene (under construction). Our own facility at Brooklyn Chest Hospital can keep up to 8 patients over night and is equipped for outpatients with drug resistant tuberculosis. Drug sensitive patients are hospitalised short term in a private hospital for the time being. For this purpose TASK is building a new facility in the centre of Bellville by converting a previous place of worship to a trial centre. Samples are analysed for tuberculosis at the DST/NRF Centre of Excellence in Biomedical Tuberculosis Research, MRC Centre for Molecular and Cellular Biology, Department of Medical Biochemistry, Stellenbosch University, Tygerberg.
