Selected Ongoing Trials
REMox trial:
This is a multicenter trial organised by the University College in London, UK. Its purpose is to evaluate the efficacy, safety and acceptability of two moxifloxacin-containing regimens to determine whether substitution for ethambutol or isoniazid makes it possible to reduce the duration of chemotherapy.
This will be achieved by testing two 4 month regimens in which moxifloxacin replaces either ethambutol or isoniazid to determine whether either of the 4 month regimens is not inferior to the current standard 6 month regimen.

TMC207 MDR trial:
TMC207 is a novel mycobacterial ATP-synthase inhibitor with potent preclinical activity against drug-susceptible and drug-resistant M tuberculosis. Patients with TB resistant to at least isoniazid and rifampicin are treated with either the standard regimen or with the standard regimen plus TMC207 to test whether the regimen with TMC207 is superior to the current standard for the treatment of patients with MDR tuberculosis.
