TASK Central is geared to execute large number participant vaccine trials in healthy volunteers.

The facility is access controlled and includes:

  • lung function machines
  • in-bed facilities
  • boardroom with audio visual capabilities
  • participant waiting areas
  • doctors consultation rooms

TASK Central has partnered with SCP radiology group to supply x-rays and ultrasounds.

The recent GSK vaccine trial was the first trial in healthy volunteers that was completed at TASK Central, the target was to enroll 350 participants; there were 10 sites in South Africa that recruited participants for this trial; TASK Central was the top recruiter with 15463 participants screened and 764 enrolled participants.

TASK Central was also the top recruiter for the Infectious Diseases Research Institute (IDRI, Seattle) vaccine trial, enrolling 28 participants out of 60 participants between 3 sites.
